My mother’s hands were always in the soil. Her garden was her sanctuary, full of roses, herbs, and laughter. When she passed, I turned her ashes into stones and nestled them into the garden beds—one beside each of her favourite plants. Every time something blooms, I feel like she’s there with me, tending to it in spirit. I keep one stone in my coat pocket so I can carry her warmth with me.
